Original Message posted 26th Nov 2009 by Neighbourhood Watch Parcel Delivery ScamParcel Delivery ScamA card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) suggesting that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a Premium rate number). DO NOT call this number, as this is a mail scam originating from Belize. If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call. If you do receive a card with these details, please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (the Premium rate service regulator) at www.icstis.org.uk Reply posted 29th Nov 2009 by Phil Click here to reply to this blogOld StoryThis particular number keeps cropping up & the authorities put a stop to this bunch of crooks a number of years ago. The number was blocked by ICSTIS in December 2005 and is no longer running. If you receive a copy of this "scam" e-mail the best thing is to just delete it.Obviously there could be similar scams with other numbers around and the best thing is to check with Trading Standards or the ICSTIS website before ringing. Also try a "Google" of the number on the web & see the response. |
