Best of Borough Competition 2008

The hunt to find the Borough’s Best Local Trader has started. This is one of ten awards up for grabs in this year’s Best of Borough Awards, the only difference being that this particular award is based upon nominations from the public.
Organisers said ‘We are not talking the big stores, but those small traders who are well-known for the service they provide in their area and who play an important part in their community’
The business with the most nominations from each of the eight district centres, including Purley, will be chosen to go into the final. The eight will be then be judged by a panel and the winner announced at a glittering award ceremony at Addington Palace on November 20th. Purley's S.E. Cancer Help Centre needs you !!!!!!
The S.E.C.H.C., on Purley Road needs volunteer drivers to help it carry out it's work. This wonderful centre provides a range of services to cancer sufferers and their families, including counselling, aromatherapy and support groups.

Le Moulin Rouge in Purley?
No, it’s not the famous French cabaret on a whirlwind tour! Its namesake is in the form of a new restaurant opening soon at 948 Brighton Road, formerly the New Dragon Chinese restaurant which closed last month.
