Our general secretary Dennis Newland and his wife Enid visited the country when it was still ‘the bread basket of South Africa in 1991, just 18 months after Mugabe became prime minister. In celebration of St Mark’s centenary year, a candlelit concert performed by the English Arts Chorale and the Camerata of London, conducted by Leslie Olive. Wednesday, April 21st at 7.30 pm Annual Charity Quiz Night at Purley Baptist Church The deadline for applications (with booking fees I Friday, April 17th). A charity for a group that works in Thailand who help trafficked women get out of prostitution - they earn money by making jewellery, will benefit from the quiz this year.
