SAFER NEIGHBOURHOOD OFFICE INCREASE OPENING TIMES WITH MORE VOLUNTEERS
With an increase in local volunteers the Purley Safer Neighbourhood Office in Whytecliffe Rd, opposite the BR Station, will now also be open on MONDAYS from 11.00 am to 2.00 p.m. This is in addition to the existing Tuesday and Friday opening. The office deals with general enquiries, lost and found property, document production etc.

FROM RAGS TO RICHES
'From Riches to Rags' was the title of an amusing talk given to the Purley Literary Society by Sally Lady Moon on 2nd February. Once married to a baronet, she emphasised the positive side of her life.
The next meeting, on 16th February, is a talk entitled 'Steeplejack Fred' by Sheila Dibnah.'

LOCAL PARTY LEADERS IN PUBLIC DEBATE
The leaders of Croydon's main political parties have agreed to take part in a public debate ahead of this May's local elections.
Being organised by the Croydon Advertiser and staged at Fairfield Halls, the event is the first of its kind in the borough.
Tory council leader Mike Fisher, Labour opposition leader Tony Newman, Simon Rix from the Lib Dems and the Green Party's Shasha Khan will face questions from voters.
Advertiser readers to apply for tickets and to submit questions for the panel to discuss.
Called The Big Debate it will take place at 6.15pm on Monday April 12, less than a month before May 6's elections.

Fund Raising Event for Headley Court Rehabilitation Centre
The Addington Court Veterans Golf Club is to hold an Open Golf Day on Wednesday April 14 in aid of HEADLEY COURT REHABILITATION CENTRE where staff do outstanding work assisting young men and women seriously injured in the conflict in Afghanistan to rebuild their lives.
The event will be staged at the Addington Court Golf Centre, Featherbed Lane, South Croydon CR0 9AA and golfers of any age or
gender will be assured of a warm welcome.
Readers interested in participating or perhaps associating themselves with this worthy cause through some form of sponsorship are invited
