PLANNING MEETINGS TO HELP FORM STRATEGY TO GUIDE PLANNERS
This is a Notification of the meetings emailed to the Purley Mail by the Council:
This is a reminder that the first of our four public consultation events on the Core Strategy is taking place on Saturday 27th Feb. This event covers the areas of Croydon Metropolitan Centre, Waddon, South Croydon, Addiscombe, Broad Green & Selhurst. The first event is being held at Fairfield Halls Maple Room from 10am – 3:30pm. The event is structured in a drop-in style with different options for how you can get involved:
- Three informal sessions where attendees can browse the 6 topic based stands and ask questions
- Three formal discussion sessions based on the topic areas
- A space to look at the printed documents and leave written comments
- Depending on availability of equipment there may be chance to record a video comment
Approximate times for the sessions are:
10:00am Welcome and introduction
10:15am Browsing and general discussion / questions
10:45am 1st set of topic based sessions
11:45am Browsing and general discussion / questions
12:30pm 2nd set of topic based sessions
01:30pm Browsing and general discussion / questions
02:00pm 3rd set of topic based sessions
03:15pm What happens next then end
The topic based discussions will be based on the content of the Core Strategy as follows:
- The Spatial Vision and Objectives (aspirations for the future)
- The Spatial Strategy (where and when to accommodate growth)
- A Place of Opportunity (business locations, jobs, creative industry and housing)
- A Place to Belong (community facilities, cohesive communities, natural environment and built heritage)
- A Place with a Sustainable Future (accessibility, connectivity, ease of movement, climate change, waste, open space and biodiversity)
- Places of Croydon (based on the Spatial Management Areas and supporting evidence base)
To help us manage the event, please let us know by e-mail LDF@croydon.gov.uk if you are interested in attending and also tell us the topic areas you are interested in discussing - even if they are not listed above.
